- In the past very popular, people would submit info about themselves → people got married, had a child, etc
- Considering a physical version depending on the cost
- Trying to reach out to current CorrSec to plan events with the actives
- Planning with VPS to do an alumni service event later this semester
- Handling stuff with officer portal; all up to date
- Trying to do taxes but IRS page wasn’t working; gave up
- Federal taxes have been filed
- Chapter updates:
- Still working on endowment letter; finalizing after revisions
- All good for scholarship, money will go out soon to 4 recipients; $650 per person
- National office gives out Youth Service Day grants to chapters 2 times every 5 years
- Looking to apply for grant and use it for Youth Service Day at Skylar Mansion
- Continue Easter Egg Hunt as well but doesn’t require funding
Vice President:
- Does the chapter want to do an active/alumni service project this year?
- Looking if expanding the butterfly garden is possible if not plan something else
- Plan to have a lunch after the event
- 80th updates
- Put down $1000 deposit to secure the date
- Put out Save the Date; send something electronically (announcement)
- Starting brainstorming committees and finding people
- Reach out to Marty because they fill his calendar a year ahead of time
- Include save the date on first newsletter
- Pi Day
- Send out a match for donations to the chapter/endowment
- Dean Arno Nowotny award
- See if there is anyone good at woodworking on campus that may be able to help
- RPI did a celebration for first Nowotny award; held a reception for the chapter
- First time two consecutive awards and we have the most awards
- Try to get RPI to honor the chapter
- Had legislators come out in the past; also good recognition for RPI
- New office on campus, Rafael can see if someone can reach out to them to highlight how long APO has been on campus and 7 Nowotny’s, etc
- Also ask Dawn who we can contact
- Dean of students put this all together at that time
Member at Large:
- Assisting with transition planning and 80th planning
New Business/Discussion
Finances
- Going in person to EZAA’s bank to handle signers
- Any major change you need all the signers
- Current signer will be present
- Federal taxes have been filled
- Key Bank only in NY
- Maybe try to open a new bank account that’s more flexible or online
- Need to go in person to change the signers
- Elections on alumni weekend but bank only open on weekday; difficult to organize signed
- Change signers in interim add Ken and Rafael
- Once figure out more details, both live close enough they can figure it out
- TD Bank is in most states on East Coast
- Chase, Bank of America as well
Upcoming event planning
- How to elect treasurer-secretary?
- Need 10 people for quorum to elect
- Plan to do it online
- Thinking of planning EZAA event for early March
- Do this and add election before
Next ECOM Meeting
The group decided to hold their next meeting on Thursday, March 12th at 7pm. The meetings will now be open to any alumni to view that have an interest, contact Rafael for meeting details.
